This 1,000-acre "downtown" of The Woodlands includes The Woodlands Waterway, along with commercial and retail businesses in the area's self-contained Market Street. The Waterway is a 1.25-mile long linear park and transportation corridor that links the businesses, shopping, dining, urban living, and entertainment venues in Town Center. Water taxis and trolleys from The Woodlands Mall onward past Market Street enhance the pedestrian-friendly atmosphere.

Town Center is also host to several festivals and special events throughout the year.

In the center of Market Street is a grassy area called Central Park, which features fountains in which kids can play. At night, the fountains are lit up with beautiful, colored lights.
