Theodore Roosevelt, the 26th President of the United States, was born in this house in 1858, and lived here for the first 14 years of his life. His sisters and his widow furnished rooms in the house to recall the time period during which he occupied the house. Dedicated in 1923, the museum contains exhibits on Roosevelt's life. Children can join a Park Ranger for a program describing the life of Theodore Roosevelt or view the introductory video program. Tours run daily and start on the hour. The last tour is at 4pm.
