about Third Street Music School Settlement:

Third Street offers a variety of arts oriented activities for children, including a licensed half-day nursery program, and special classes for kids ages two to five.

The Young People's Music Program consists of four activities vital to a child's musical education: private or group lessons; theory and musicianship training; participation in ensemble or musical group activity; and performance. The fifth activity, practice, takes place at home and is crucial to progress and student satisfaction.

Private lessons are available in bass, cello, clarinet, flute, guitar, harpsichord, percussion, piano, recorder, saxophone, French horn, trumpet, viola, violin, and voice. Study of an instrument not listed here may be discussed with the registrar.

Group lessons are available in cello, flute, guitar, percussion, piano, recorder, saxophone, trumpet, viola, and violin.

Classes run 30-, 45-, or 60-minutes. Classes are booked in 32-week segments, cost depends on length of class and whether class is group or private. Suzuki classes in piano, violin, viola, cello, bass, guitar, and flute are offered as well.

The Dance Department offers movement/tumbling for kids ages five to nine, Flamenco (age seven), tap (age six), and ballet (ages five and up). Dance classes run between one hour and 90 minutes and cost between $528-$1024, depending on length of class time and number of classes taken in the 32 week session.

The Art Department offers classes to kids ages five to 12, including drawing, painting, ceramics, and woodworking.Class size is limited to 15 students; an assistant is present for groups of nine or more. Classes run 90 minutes to two hours on Monday, Thursday, and Saturday afternoons.
