The
Third Street Promenade was developed in the late 1980's by the City of Santa Monica in an effort to revitalize the deteriorated downtown area and create a vibrant center for community life and retail activity.
Located a mere three blocks from the Pacific Ocean,
Third Street Promenade is one of the most fun and beautiful places to visit in Los Angeles, and the area's most popular pedestrian shopping precinct.
Gargantuan flagship
stores include
Abercrombie & Fitch, Banana Republic, Urban Outfitters,
Barnes & Noble for books,
Puzzle Zoo for toys, and, of course,
Gap Kids.
Movie multiplexes include AMC theaters (7), Loews Cineplex (4) and the Mann Criterion (6).
Restaurants run the gamut from Falafel King to Johnny Rockets, Johnnies Pizza, and the Broadway Deli. We like the Broadway Deli for lunch or brunch. It has roomy booths, high chairs & booster seats, and a knock your socks off macaroni and cheese.
Kids love
The Promenade's many fountains designed as giant dinosaur topiaries, placed throughout the four block stretch. Our kids also enjoy the wide array of street vendors and free entertainment.
This is a part of town where you are sure to shop 'til you drop.
