Home of Missouri's second governor, Frederick Bates,
Thornhill Historic Site is the
oldest standing governor's residence in Missouri.
The historic site within
Faust Park includes Bates's restored 1820s home, barn, reconstructed summer kitchen, ice and smoke house, orchard, herb garden, and family cemetery.
Tours of the property run approximately 90 minutes long and are available for groups of 10 to 50 people by appointment only. Materials for a self-guided tour can be found at the Seed Visitor Center.
