Burrito-loving Floridians know that Tijuna Flats is a great place to go for fast, fresh and delicious Tex-Mex offerings such as burritos, tacos, tostadas, chimichangas, enchiladas, and more. Tijuana Flats, with its bustling, casual atmosphere, is tailor-made for families. Entrees range from $5-$7, and add-ons rarely exceed $2-$3. Crayons and coloring sheets are available for little ones, but generally service is fast, and the time between ordering and food delivery can just as easily be passed by perusing the funky sci-fi-inspired murals painted in bright and neon colors. (Just walking in the door makes you feel as if you're walking into the pages of a giant comic book.) The Little Lizards menu features kid-size entrees - including hard- and soft-shell tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and the ubiquitous but ever-popular chicken fingers - along with chips, a soft drink, toy, and, they say, an imaginary pet. Grown-ups who like hot stuff can feel like a kid again at the Tijuana Flats Hot Bar, which serves a rotating selection of hot sauces (of varying degrees of heat) daily. Since even a drop of a habanero-based sauce can make life miserable for someone who's not a fan, kids aren't permitted to go to the Hot Bar solo. The store also sells a variety of bottled hot sauces in each restaurant and through the company's online catalog. Proceeds from their $5-a-bottle Just in Queso hot sauce support non-profit charities such as Make-a-Wish and the American Red Cross. Tijuana Flats features a walk-up ordering system. Food is then brought to tables once it has been prepared. In a hurry to get home? Tijuana Flats offers take-out, as well.
