about Toscanini's Ice Cream:

Ice cream aficionados understand that Toscanini's takes its frozen confection seriously. A Cambridge favorite since 1981, it serves up some of the most unique and best-tasting flavors around.

Adventurous adults and children may find the green tea sorbet and cardamom ice cream tantalizing. Most, however, are likely to favor sinful flavors like malted milk ball, hydrox cookies, and vienna finger ice cream. Your children will be bouncing off the walls from the sugar, but what the heck...the looks on their faces behind their drippy cones is worth it.

You can take home hand-packed pints and quarts. Quarts are $7. If you'd like a one-of-a-kind ice cream, call the Main Street location (617.491.5877) and place your order one day in advance.

tips:

Kid cones are $2.25. With the nice weather come the long lines. Plan on making your ice cream run early in the evening.

getting there:

Located at the corner of Main Street and Mass Ave. There is limited on the street parking. Via Public Transportation, take the Red Line to Central Square or take #1 bus.
