Tower of the Americas was built as the centerpiece of the 1968 HemisFair. At 750 feet, the Tower is 87 feet higher than the Seattle Space Needle and 67 feet higher than the Washington Monument and 52 feet higher than the San Jacinto Monument.

Families who enjoy heights can venture onto the outdoor observation deck. Those who purchase tickets and venture to the top can also "ride" Skies over Texas, a 4-D, Texas-themed production.
