Tradewinds Park is a 699-acre Broward County regional park that is home to
Butterfly World and
Tradewinds & Atlantic Railroad. The park offers 10 rental picnic shelters of various sizes for hosting gatherings for friends and family as well as corporate events or cultural festivals. Rental fees range from $36 to $660 depending on day of week rented and does not include refundable cleaning deposits to be paid on day of event.
Capacities range from 30 occupants to large groups of 250 or more. All shelters provide picnic tables, running water, and barbecue grills. Reservations are required. Uncovered picnic tables are available free on a first-come, first-served basis.
On the south side of the park, the following amenities and activities are offered: lake house boat rentals, athletic field rentals, and disc golf course (batting cages are no longer offered).
On the north side of the park, the following amenities and activities are offered: guided trail rides, pony rides, public farm tours, birthday parties at the farm, educational farm tours, and steam train rides.
Hayrides are available to groups, requiring a two-week advanced reservation. Capacity per hayride is 30 occupants.
The park's regular weekend and holiday gate entrance fee is $1/person, with kids five and under receiving free admission. There's a $5 maximum charge per car or van with nine or fewer occupants, and a $15 charge per commercial school bus.
