about Trees Atlanta:
Trees Atlanta is a non-profit citizens' group dedicated to protecting and improving the urban environment by planting and conserving trees. There are volunteer projects most Saturday mornings from 9am to 12n. Details vary from week to week, depending on need, but are usually tree plantings and maintenance.
tips:
Children are welcome at volunteer projects as long as they are accompanied by an adult. Wear sturdy shoes, work gloves and long pants and sleeves when possible. Bring water in your own reusable bottle!
getting there:
From downtown Atlanta, take 1-20 East to the Glenwood exit. Turn left off of the exit ramp and turn left again at Memorial Drive. Take first right on Chester Ave, and Trees Atlanta is 1/2 block on the left. Or from MARTA East-West train, exit at the Inman Park station on the south side. Walk south to Wylie Street and turn right. Turn left on to Chester Avenue, and we are at the end of the street on the right.
