Back in the day (mid-40s), I lived at 3926 10th st. Most of my growing up was in this park! (Went to St Anthony's..) Eternal thanx for your keeping it going!! If you ever need memories, let me know!!
...management makes this the best facility in all of DC. The center employs a professional, friendly staff with numerous activities that are safe, fun, and educational.
My daughter took the parent & child swimming class recently. It was great but they don't have enough classes/slots so it's really competitive to get in. The staff is friendly tho sometimes a little disorganized.
For years Brookland has needed a safe, reliable, center where kids and teens could hang out and just be, well, kids and teens. Finally, it appears the Turkey Thicket Recreation Center provides for such a need. We can only hope this place does not end up as others have as victims of negligence and vandalism.
