These Columbia City and Stone Way pizza restaurants are a cut above the usual family pizza experience. For starters, a host seats you, and the friendly wait staff serves you at your table. Even with all of this service, Tutta Bella welcomes children with high chairs, if needed, and a toy upon being seated. We were fortunate to sit within view of the pizza chefs kneading dough and preparing the exquisitely thin-crusted pies for the apple wood oven. That, and a lively atmosphere, provided additional entertainment for our six-year-old companion.
When we visited, the restaurant served Orangina and Limonata sodas, and we didn't have to ask for a straw. Our young diner ordered the Bambino, an adult-sized pizza with tomato sauce, mozzarella, and provolone. Other notable pizzas on the menu were Prosciutto e Rucola with fresh arugula, prosciutto di Parma, and parmigiano-reggiano; the Mediterranea, with kalamatas, marinated mushrooms, eggplant, basil, and goat cheese; and Pizza Bianca, with caramelized onions, roasted garlic, and goat cheese. The pizzas are intended to serve one person, but can easily feed two. The same goes for the salads. The "small" is perfect for two to share. The Caesar had housemade croutons and shavings of parmigiano-reggiano. The Napoli had chicken breast, salami, crisp pancetta, kalamatas, and gorgonzola.
