Train-loving kids will swoon over the wonderful 3,000-square-foot O-scale operational model railroad here, but even non-enthusiasts will be impressed at the painstaking craftsmanship on display. It's an extraordinary sight, with four trains plying the tracks through careful recreations of period scenes and landmarks, including the Stone Arch Bridge, business districts, river bluffs, and trolley cars.
The pride and enthusiasm of the 100 volunteers who maintain the railroad are evident at every turn, and the ones you'll see tinkering about there are happy to share what they know.
The museum room is stroller-friendly - but kids aren't likely to want to stay seated! Restrooms are next door.
