about University City Arts League:

The University City Arts League, formed in 1965 by a group of West Philadelphia artists, has something for everyone, including affordable classes and workshops for all ages, art exhibits, concerts, field trips, an afterschool program, and summer camp. The facilities include two dance studios, two art studios, two darkrooms, two general-purpose spaces, and a pottery studio.

Tots to Teens classes are available in creative dance, ballet, zumba, art, pottery, writing, yoga, language, and much more. For a current class schedule, please visit www.ucartsleague.org.

Arts League membership benefits include discounted rates for classes and workshops, and invitations to special events. Scholarships for eligible children are offered and are supported by The Bateman Fund and membership fees.

getting there:

Located between 42nd and 43rd Streets. From Center City: Take the 42 Bus on Walnut, get off at 42nd and Spruce in University City, and walk down the hill. The Arts League is on the left side of the street, in the middle of the 4200 block. From 30th Street Station: Take the 34 Trolley, get off at 42nd & Baltimore, walk two blocks north to Spruce and turn left. The Arts League is in the middle of block. From I-76: Exit at South Street from the left expressway lane only. If exiting from Eastbound I-76, turn right; from Westbound I-76, turn left and arrive on Spruce at about 31st Street. The U of PA Museum will be on the left along Spruce toward 33rd. Continue on Spruce past 42nd.
