University Performing Arts Centre offers professional dance instruction for kids of every age. A new state-of-the art facility equipped with raised wood floors in each of the five dance studios offers students the chance to learn in a comfortable atmosphere.

Instructors have a professional background of experienced teaching and know the current trends in dance and modern teaching methods. Students have the opportunity to participate in local and regional dance competitions and exhibitions to strengthen their stage presence and self-confidence, and a dance recital is held at the end of the year to illustrate the students' progress.

Classes: Preschool classes are 45 minutes and most other classes are one to one-and-a-half hours long. The curriculum includes a Preschool Combination Class for children ages three to five (covering tap, pre-ballet, rhythm training, personality movements, and tumbling), and Introduction to Dance Class for kids ages six to eight (covering tap, ballet, and jazz), as well as advanced classes in Tap, Jazz/Hip Hop, Classical Ballet, Acrobatics, Modern/Lyrical, and special classes just for boys that encompasses tap, jazz, and tumbling in order to develop strength, coordination, and flexibility.

Parties: UPAC also hosts themed dance parties for both large and small groups for children three and older. Party guests are led through a choreographed dance routine, then put on a mini-recital for friends and family - compete with costumes.

The studio also offers an on-site store that carries leotards, tights, ballet shoes, tap shoes, jazz shoes, UPAC dance bags, sweat outfits, t-shirts, and jackets.
