The Uptown Branch library opened on June 7, 1993 in a newly constructed building reminiscent of the architectural style of Frank Lloyd Wright. It is a full-service facility, offering a range of materials including compact discs, audio and videocassettes, book/cassette kits for children, as well as books and periodicals.
The Uptown Branch provides personal computers for public use and a TTY. The auditorium seats 100, and there are two additional conference rooms for small group meetings.
Service to children is one of the primary missions of the Uptown Branch, and the well-defined children's room has separate areas for preschool/primary age children and fourth through eighth graders.
The Uptown Branch is a Blue Skies for Library Kids site.
