USF Kids Kamp156

We've paid for one week, but after just three days at this camp we've decided not to send our son there for the remaining two days. This camp is a waste of time, money, and of an excellent sports facility. The students who work at the camp are basically kids themselves, who are neither ready nor trained for the job. I feel like such a fool for not reading the reviews first. Those $250 down the drain feel almost like getting a traffic ticket.

Not even one star for this camp. My kids love sharing with me how much they've or not enjoyed a particular camp. All they've talked about is how much free play they have, how freezing cold the pool is, how unmotivated the staff are It's sad to have my kids suffer one whole week.

This camp is still a joke in my house "the sports camp where they watched movies". No organization, no supervision and no real purpose. Don't subject your kids to this -- there are enough GREAT camps in SF that merit your money.

My daughter loved the giant pool and learned to swim well over the summer. That was about the only high point. The counselors were often inattentive, the kids were often stuck in a gym doing nothing constructive.

I found this camp to be very disorganized and rather than providing any real sports instruction, the campers (of all ages) were put in a gym to fend for themselves! I had 2 kids attending this week (ages 5 & 9) and they were placed in the same "program." The 9 year old was so bored that she begged me not to go back after the second day. The 5 year old was a bit happier but was disappointed that she did not get to try any sports or even go swimming! (Kids under 7 are not permitted to swim). Another problem was the counselors, who are teens in high school and college. Based on many complaints from my 9 year old, they were mean to the kids and didn't do much besides baby-sit. To end on a brighter note, both my kids liked the lunch, which is included in the price. They were thrilled to be taken to the cafeteria and allowed to eat with the college students.

We sent our 10 year old son summer 2005. We were extremely disappointed. The staff was inadequately trained to deal with a group of campers who were bullying some of the kids. Our son was not victimized but we felt the problem was poorly handled and ultimately did not feel comfortable allowing our son to complete the session. As far as the program - that was disappointing too. A lot of the campers were uninterested in participating so sports never really got played.
