about Utah Olympic Park:

The Utah Olympic Park occupies 389 acres of the Wasatch Mountains. The park includes six Nordic jumps (K10, K20, K40, K64, K90, and K120), a 1,335-meter sliding track (for bobsled, lube, and skeleton), a training and competition hill for freestyle aerials, a large freestyle aerials summer training pool, a 15,000-square foot day lodge, and the Joe Quinney Winter Sports Center (home of the Alf Engen Ski Museum and the 2002 Eccles Winter Olympic Museum, as well as a retail shop and a theater).

Winter activities that the public can take part in include walking tours of the facilities (extra fee for guided tours), bobsled rides, zipline rides, lift rides, and sports camps. Visitors can also watch many national and international competitions, and watch aspiring youth and Olympic athletes in training on a year-round basis. Call for a current training schedule.

Bobsled rides are available only for people ages 16 and over, and participants under the age of 18 require a parent or guardian signature. Reservations are recommended. Winter sports camps are offered in bobsled, skeleton, luge, Slopestyle, and Nordic. Bobsled camps are for people ages 18 and up. Skeleton and luge camps are offered for ages 13 and up. The Slopestyle camps are for ages six and up, and focuses on the proper use of the terrain park and basic tricks. Nordic camps teach people ages six and up the art of Nordic jumping. Prices and schedules vary by camp. Check the website for the latest information.

A 25 minute freestyle aerial show is put on for visitors every Saturday during the summer. The shows start at noon and cost $10 for adults and $7 for children.

Zipline rides are available late May through late October, and during limited winter and spring days. Riders must weigh 100-275 pounds to ride the Xtreme Zip, and 55-275 pounds to ride the Ultra Zip. Check the website for the schedule and pricing. The Ultra Zip is only available during the summer months.

The Alpine Slide is a steel track that riders weave down on a sled. Check the website for the schedule and pricing. The Alpine Slide is only offered during the summer months. It typically opens Memorial Day weekend.

Adventure Camp is a four-day camp available to kids between the ages of eight and 14. The camps provide each camper with instruction and equipment to experience nine Olympic sports (ice hockey, speed skating, luge, bobsled, ski jumping, biathlon, curling, freestyle, and skeleton). Besides the Adventure Camps, kids can also check out Freestyle Introduction Camps (ages six and older) and summer Ski Jumping Camps (ages five to 12). Check the website for information on dates, prices, and registration.

getting there:

From I-80, take the Kimball Junction/Park City exit (exit #145) and head south on Highway 224. Turn right at the second traffic light (Olympic Parkway). The entrance gatehouse is one mile up the road.
