Our daughter is three and has been at Lucille's since she was ten months old. I can say with confidence that there is no way my husband and I would have been able to go to work every day and focus on our own jobs for the past two and a half years if we didn't absolutely know that Lucille was giving our daughter the best care and love she could possibly offer, every single day. There are so many ways daycare providers can choose to cut corners and get lazy. However, it was always abundantly clear to us that Lucille takes great pride in the services she provides and her standards are incredibly high, sometimes higher than ours! Her home is spotless and she takes great care in keeping things as clean and germ free as possible. The toys and books are lovingly and thoughtfully chosen, and rotated often. Meals and snacks are organic and healthy. Daily written logs on our child's disposition, what she ate, how she napped, pottied, etc., were so helpful to us, and gave us a clear idea of what was happening while we were away. I always appreciated the way Lucille and my husband and I approached issues and decisions regarding our daughter's care together, and the way we communicated as a team. Lucille has a great deal of knowledge and expertise, and it was great to have her as a resource regarding parenting issues. I am forever grateful to Lucille and her amazing family and we will miss them terribly when our daughter moves on to preschool!

Valdivia Family Daycare is an absolute gem that I feel so lucky to have found. Lucille takes amazing care of the children, treating them like her own. It truly is a caring, family atmosphere, not to mention a very safe, loving environment. My son began at the age of 4 months and I never worry about leaving him; he is in excellent hands. He gets plenty of floor play time and when I pick him up I get a detailed account of his day, including the exact amount he ate and time he slept. Each child gets individual attention and his or her needs are attended to. For example, my son needed to be swaddled to go down for a nap beyond the recommended age and Lucille really helped in the transition to swaddle-free. I wholeheartedly recommend this daycare to everyone!

I very enthusiastically recommend Valdivia Daycare for any family researching daycare possibilities for their children. Lucille runs a great daycare, full of love and structure. It is very nerve racking to trust someone else with your baby and Lucille was so thoughtful and understanding of me and my fears. We spent a lot of time with her from Jan 2007 to Mar 2007 and I was very impressed with her childcare. Her home is so clean and kid friendly and she has a small but very adequate outdoor space for the older kids to play and get fresh air. She cooks yummy lunches and snacks for the kids as well. She fed our 3 month old daughter on demand and took such great care of her. When we picked her up each day, Lucille gave us a full account of the day’s activities and her observations as to what was going on with our child. Our daughter was clean, often laughing and smiling, and she loved interacting with Lucille and all the other adorable kids at the daycare. I am so happy and thankful to have found her. Both of my children have attended this daycare. Upon moving to San Francisco three years ago, I embarked on a thorough search for affordable and good childcare in my neighborhood. Almost every place I saw was an abomination. Valdivia Family Day Care was the major standout of this search. Lucille is concerned with every aspect of child development, providing structured and stimulating activities for toddlers and love and nurturing for babies. She provides wonderful meals. Running the best child care business humanly possible is her driving force.

We had our son there from 3-5 months and had we not moved out of town, we would have kept him there until he started school. Of course it is hard to leave a small baby in daycare, but I never felt worried because I knew he was in good, loving hands. Lucille and Abel were great with him and really made sure that he was part of things; they didn't just prop him up in a bouncy seat or put him in a playpen, but he had plenty of downtime, too. All of the older kids seemed to really like it there, and the fact that she served healthy snacks was a big plus. I would absolutely recommend Valdivia Family Daycare!
