The newly-expanded and renovated Van Asselt Community Center reopened in February 2007 and offers family programs and kid classes, including special programs for teens. A park with a playground and wading pool is also located on the site.

From I-5: Take the I-90 east exit towards Bellevue/Spokane.
Merge onto I-90 E. Take the Rainier Avenue S exit and merge onto Rainier Avenue S. Turn right onto Martin Luther King Jr Way. Turn right onto S Othello Street. S Othello Street becomes S Myrtle Place. Myrtle Place becomes S Myrtle Street. Van Asselt Community Center is on your right near the corner of Myrtle Street & Beacon Avenue S.
