Seattle has 24 wading pools and three water spray parks scattered around the city. The pools open in mid-June (call for exact dates), and are filled on sunny days when the temperature is forecast to be above 70 degrees. Water is frequently tested and rechlorinated when necessary. Pools have an attendant, but they don't act as lifeguards. Kids under 10 must be watched closely by their caregivers; some of the more popular locations become very crowded on sunny days. If you're not sure about the weather, call the Wading Pool Hotline above to make sure your pool is open. Click on the link to find a wading (or swimming) pool near you.
