about Wang YMCA of Chinatown:

Serving Chinatown and the surrounding community, the Wang YMCA of Chinatown offers a wide range of programs for infants to teens. Its brand new facility has, among other features, an indoor heated pool, children's locker rooms and family changing room, and a computer lab.

Children's Center Day Care Program: Provides quality care for children ages 4 weeks to 6 years. The program runs Monday through Friday 7am-6pm. Call 617-426-2237 for more information.
Infants ages 4 weeks to 15 months, engage in activities that are appropriate for their individual developmental level. Activities include mirror play, music, exercise, and social play.
Toddlers, 15 months to 33 months, are divided into age appropriate groups. Activities include music and movement, arts and crafts, stories, outdoor time and more.
Preschoolers, ages 2.9 to 6 years, engage in pre-reading activities, art, music, writing, computers, and other developmentally appropriate curriculum.

Afterschool Program: Designed for children ages 6 to 14 and runs after school until 6pm. Activities include computer work, swimming, arts and crafts, gym, homework assistance, and more. The program follows the Boston Public School calendar and operates during school vacations, half days, and some holidays. Call 617-426-2237 for more information.

Swim Classes: Children ages 6 months to 5 years can take swim lessons. Parent/Child Swim Classes are offered for infants and toddlers ages 6 months-36 months. Preschool Swim Lessons teach children ages 3 to 6 basic swimming skills. Children also learn pool and boating safety. Youth and Teen swim lessons are offered for children aged 7 to 17. They are instructed in basic skills, strokes, synchronized swimming and personal safety. Six-weeks of swim instruction is $35 for members and $55 for non-members. Call for lesson schedules.

Sports Classes: Start for children ages 3 to 6, who can opt to participate in a "Move Your Body" program, which uses many different types of physical exercise to develop improved self-esteem, coordination, balance, agility, muscle strength, and endurance, or Kids Yoga. Youth and teen sports programs include: structured games and pool activities, Korean Karate, FitKids for 8-12 year olds, FitTeens for 13-17 year olds, youth volleyball clinic for boys and girls ages 13-17, a boys' high school basketball league, and a girls' high school volleyball league.

Academic assistance: Youth members are allotted time during the school week to use the computer lab. The College Path program readies college-bound high school students for testing and admission applications.

Leadership Training and a Community Service program are available to youth ages 11-18. Both programs are open to members and non-members.
