The giant five-story speed slide might be the biggest draw at the Wapelhorst Aquatic Facility, located at Wapelhorst Park: The slide takes just five seconds to reach the bottom - in other words, it's breathtakingly fast.
The facility also includes a water-rapids inner-tube ride, one underground and one open waterslide, a children's play area, and a general swimming area.
The pool hosts swimming lessons, parties, summer day camps, water aerobics, family swim nights, and tiny tots programs.

tips:
Only children over 12 can enter the facility without a guardian. Children under 11 must be accompanied by a guardian aged 14 or older.
getting there:
In St. Charles, take First Capitol Drive south, which changes into Highway 94 South. Exit right at Pralle Lane, take the first left onto Old Highway 94, then turn right on to Muegge Road. Go one mile; the park is on the left.
