Washington Hebrew Congregation provides a spiritual, educational, and cultural home for Jews of all ages in the Washington metropolitan area.
An Early Childhood Center provides an environment where children can experiment, discover, dream, and imagine. For ages two years through five (pre-school) at the
Macomb Street Temple and ages two years through eight (pre-school-2nd grade) at the
Julia Bindeman Suburban Center. The Washington Hebrew Congregation Primary School offers a well-rounded balanced and enriched curriculum for Gesher (Bridge for children who have completed a four-year-old program, but not ready for kindergarten), Kindergarten, first, and second grades.
Supplementary Jewish educational programming is offered starting in Kindergarten. Hebrew education commences in fourth grade, with Upper School and Confirmation Classes taking place in eighth, ninth and tenth grades. Our post-confirmation program, called "L'atid," ("Toward the Future"), meets monthly and is open to eleventh and twelfth graders. Religious School classes are held at both the Temple facility in Washington, as well as at the Julia Bindeman Suburban Center.
Camp Keetov, Washington Hebrew Congregation's summer program for young children is available at both the Julia Bindeman Suburban Center in Potomac and at the Temple in DC.
