about Water World:
Water World is located 15 minutes north of downtown Denver. It features an extensive variety of water park attractions (47), from
Wally World for the tots, to Voyage to the Center of the Earth for the entire family. Water World has
more family tube rides than any other park in America.
Thrill rides are in abundance also, like the Red Line speed slide. Plenty of
picnic areas are available, from covered pavilions to beautifully landscaped grass areas, and the place is clean and well staffed. Picnics are welcome and the parking is free. Please see the park
Guidelines for what picnic items are allowable to bring in to the park.
The park offers a wide variety of food and beverage choices and a gift shop. Operating season is generally from the last weekend in May through Labor Day, with some school days excepted. Because the staff is predominantly high school age, when the park
is open on a school day, some rides will be closed due to worker availabilty. Check out the "Tip" below for some helpful hints that will make your first visit a good one. In any case, we LOVE this place!
Birthday and other parties get covered reserved seating and discounted food and beverage tickets for the day.
tips:
Plan to grab a couple chairs or a piece of lawn as "home base" when you arrive. The park is very hilly and dragging everything everywhere is unrealistic. If you bring in a cooler, try to make it one with wheels. In addition, many of the rides end far from their starting points and you can't take belongings on the rides.
Flip-flops or water shoes are also important as the pavement can get blisteringly hot on a warm sunny afternoon. Lastly, several tube rides require passengers to carry/drag the inner tube from the bottom of the ride to the top. This can often be more than a mom and a couple kids can handle, so be prepared!
