Weilenmann School of Discovery is publicly funded charter school for students in kindergarten through eighth grade. Core studies include science; performance, music, and visual art; technology; outdoor education; project-based learning; and individualized learning.
Charter schools are part of the public education system. Admission is open to all students, without discrimination. Should the number of students who wish to enroll in the school exceed the carrying capacity of the school, admission is by lottery. Preferences are sometimes given to students whose parents teach at the school, students whose parents were involved in the development of the school, students who have siblings currently enrolled in the school, or returning students.
