about Welles Park:

In the heart of Lincoln Square, at Lincoln and Montrose Avenues, sits the 15-acre Welles Park.

The park boasts a European-style gazebo on its west side, which serves as a centerpiece for the community and is used for outdoor concerts, storytelling, and other performances. Baseball, softball, track fields are available.

Welles Park also provides activities for developmentally disabled adults and children through its therapeutic recreation programs, as well as its highly-publicized Special Music for Special People, founded to give people with disabilities the opportunity to compose, record and perform original music.

The Old Town School of Folk Music's annual Folk & Roots Festival is held each summer at Welles Park.
