The West Dade YMCA offers afterschool, sports, and camp programs. Afterschool takes place at Banyan Elementary School for pre-K through 5th graders from 2pm-6pm. The charge is $29 per week (plus $30 annual membership fee). The program runs Monday through Friday through the academic year for Miami-Dade Public schools. Children receive homework help, and participate in arts & crafts and outdoor games. The sports programs take place at the local schools and parks and change seasonally. Spring programs include basketball, soccer, football, and cheerleading. Baseball and basketball are available in the summer months. The summer camp program is for children 4 years and up and costs $75 per week for members, $85 per week for nonmembers. Children participate in arts & crafts, sports, swimming and music activities. Camp runs from June 11th through August 21st, 2001 from 7am-6pm (before care 7am-9am and after care 5pm-6pm for no extra charge), Monday through Friday.
