The winner of our 2008 Parents' Picks quest to find the Best Parents' Night Out in the Boise area, the West Family YMCA and Boise City Aquatic Center share a building and a unique partnership between the city and the YMCA. Offerings at the facility include a 50-meter swimming pool, a training pool, a water slide, a kiddie pool with slides and water toys, a hydrotherapy pool, two gymnasiums, three racquetball courts, a climbing wall, a multipurpose room, a youth activity center, a drop-in nursery, cardio equipment, free weights, Technogym, Keiser, and Cybex equipment, and men's, women's, youth, special needs, and family locker rooms. Classes and programming at the Y include Teen Nights, aerobics, yoga, spinning, water exercise, strength training, youth strength training, personal training, massage, martial arts, climbing, swim team, water safety instruction certification, diving lessons, lifeguard training, and swim lessons.

The West Y hosts birthday parties. Party packages include the use of a party room for one hour, cake, punch, paper products, balloons, decorations, party set-up, and clean-up.
