About West Side Market
An Ohio City landmark since 1912, the West Side Market is the largest indoor/outdoor market in the country, with 180 booths of the freshest meats, dairy, produce, bakery, cut flowers, ethnic foods and international delicacies.
Best bet for first-timers: Browse all the stands, to see the variety available (and note the price variations, even from one zucchini to the next). Then, stop at Johnny's Hot Dog or the West Side Market Cafe for soup or a sandwich, or get Chicken Swarma at Maha's Falafil (or indulge in fresh baklava at the bakery) while you mentally make your shopping list.
Then, go back to the vendors, and be ready to be plied with promotions ("buy-these-cantalopes-I'll-give-you-these-bananas") and free samples.
Amenities include restrooms (downstairs - no changing tables) and pay phones, in the parking lot. Also, inside near the stairs you'll find a tiny newsstand with assorted over-the-counter remedies, all of Cleveland's alternative newspapers, and periodicals in several languages.

Tips
The West Side Market's fresh flower selection and prices are among the best in the city; and remember, take cash - very few vendors take checks or credit/debit cards.
Getting There
At the intersection of W. 25th and Lorain; access parking lot off Lorain.

- I have always enjoyed the variety of fresh produce. The meat is fresh and the cheeses are very good also. The tradition of courteous service at the market place is especially nice. Thanks and Hearty Blessing From God For Safety and Cleanliness To All!
