Even for libraries, it's location, location, location, and the site of Hennepin County Library's Westonka branch is a winner.
Built in Mound in 1972, this 8,700-sq. ft. library is located within walking distance of Lake Minnetonka, and has the charm of a lakeside cabin. Twenty-six computer workstations are available - including six for Kidlinks and two for Littlelinks.
The library hosts family programming and storytimes throughout the year, as well as book discussion groups for both boys and girls, live entertainment, and special events. Check the website for special offerings for teens during the summer. Advance registration is required for the storytimes and most other ongoing offerings.
