about Why Knot Knit:

Why Knot Knit, a full service knitting emporium located in the heart of Buckhead, is devoted to the art of knitting. The shop offers various classes year-round. Summer Kid Camp introduces young knitters, ages eight through 12, to the following techniques; cast-on, knit, purl, and cast-off. The class also covers needles, yarns, and basic stitches, with lots of time to practice, ask questions, and enjoy the craft. Students must bring a packed lunch. A week-long session (Monday to Friday from 10:30am-2:30pm) is offered several times during July and August. Each session costs $200. Knit Basics for Mother and Daughter teaches the basics of knitting - cast-on, knit stitch, purl stitch, stockinette stich, rib stitch, increases, decreases, and bind off - during a three week session. The fee is $175 (for both mother & daughter) plus supplies. All that's required to join the After School Knit-In is to know what knitting is! An instructor is on hand to teach beginners and help more advanced students with projects. The fee is $15 for the entire session and snacks are provided. The class is offered on Wednesday afternoons from 3:30pm-5:30pm, September 6th-October 4th. The shop also offers Why Knot Knit at your Birthday Party?!, where kids can eat cake, celebrate, and of course knit. Projects include headbands, scarves, or even a hand-knit IPOD case! Prices begin at $100 for 12 kids maximum and include one hour of instruction and use of the upstairs room for two and a half hours. Additional options are also available; contact the shop for scheduling and prices.
