about William Devine Golf Course:

Located in Franklin Park, the William Devine Golf Course is the second-oldest public course in the nation. This 18-hole course is also known as the Franklin Park Golf Course. Special Requirements: Proof of Boston residency is required in order to obtain resident rates, i.e., driver's license, utility bill, or payroll check. Seniors must be 62 years of age or older with proof. Junior status is for kids under the age of 18. Tee times are available for Friday, Saturday, Sunday and holidays two days in advance. Weekdays are first-come first-served. Call ahead to make sure that there are no pre-scheduled events.

Golf clinics, lessons, and tournaments are held at the course in the spring and summer months. Call the Boston Parks and Recreation Department at 617.635.4505 x6209 for more information.

getting there:

From Storrow Drive take the Fenway exit to Route 1 Jamaicaway South. Follow Route 1 to Route 203 East. Stay in the left lane and go on to the overpass. At the next rotary, follow the signs for the Franklin Park Zoo. The clubhouse will be on the right 0.25 miles past the zoo. Via public transportation take the Orange Line to Forest Hills Station. Board the #16 bus. There is a stop just along the parking lot. Or, you may take a short cab ride from Forest Hills to the golf course which is about 1 mile.
