The Art Deco Wilshire Theatre hosts dance troupes and traveling companies of Broadway musicals. It was converted to a stage venue in the 1980s, after 50 years as a premiere movie theater. Seats are available in the orchestra and balcony; all offer decent views of the stage. Tickets run between about $25 and $100, depending on the event. The box office takes all major credit cards, and will accept personal checks up until three weeks before the performance dates. Special rates are available for groups of fifteen or more. Tickets can also be purchased online, through the Nederlander Corporation.
getting there:
Take the La Cienega Blvd. exit off the 10 Freeway, head north, and turn right on Wilshire Blvd. The theater is between La Cienega and San Vicente Blvd. Parking is available in the Flynt Publishing Building parking structure on the corner of Wilshire and La Cienega for about $8, or in the Nibbles Restaurant garage, on Gale St. two blocks east of La Cienega. Do not park on the residential streets without reading signs very carefully!
