If your kids want to be the next Tiger Woods, this could be the best place to start the process. In order to play at any of Griffith Park's four golf courses, anyone under 17 needs a youth certificate, and the Pro Shop at Wilson-Harding Golf Course is where to get them. The pros there will ask you and your children a couple of questions about the children's golfing experience, and maybe ask them to hit a few balls. If they qualify, they get the certificate, and they may golf at Griffith Park's courses. If they don't, try The Griffith Park Golf School, or Tregnan Golf Academy, also in Griffith Park, for some help. Wilson-Harding is actually two, 18-hole courses; Harding is a par 71, and Wilson, a par 72. Besides the Pro Shop, Wilson-Harding has a driving range and six putting greens.
getting there:
From Los Feliz, enter the park on Riverside Drive, which will turn into Crystal Springs Drive inside the Park. Turn left at Griffith Park Drive, and look for signs.
From the Valley, take Zoo Drive south through the park and turn right on Griffith Park Drive, and follow signs. Parking is available in several lots on either side of Griffith Park Drive.
