Built circa 1753 for William Randolph III, the Wilton House was the centerpiece of a 2,000-acre tobacco plantation and home to the Randolph family for more than a century. Opened to the public in 1952, the museum houses an extensive collection of 18th- and 19th-century furnishings, textiles, glass, ceramics, and silver.
The museum offers girl scout programs and summer camps (a Teen Art Camp for kids in 8th through 12th grade and a Colonial Kids Camp for kids in 3rd through 6th grade) as well as a handful of family-friendly special events throughout the year.
