The Waldorf-inspired Wonderment - now with two locations - is a kinder, gentler toy and craft store. Puzzles and games, science kits, art and fiber craft supplies, and simple musical instruments are among the store's non-plastic playthings geared toward sparking and nurturing creativity and open-ended exploration.
Many of the crafts are suitable (and challenging) for adults too, so families can create together. Gifts are wrapped free of charge, and orders can now also be placed online.
Parties: One of the store's three owners guides kids through a craft project suitable for five to 12 guests, ages five and up. The store prefers that cake and treats be served off-site.
Workshops: Offered Saturdays (and occasionally after school), for ages six and up. Fees include supplies. Multi-session knitting and woodworking classes for older kids are also offered. Monthly sessions for parent and preschoolers celebrate the changing seasons.

A floor-to-ceiling "tree" crafted from wood and burlap provides a space for kids to climb, read, and pretend while parents shop.
