Wanna make music? From picks and reeds to performance-worthy amplifying systems and recording sessions, Woodsy's can help. The store's helpful, knowledgeable staff offers instrument rentals, lessons, and equipment, plus the expected accessory and sheet music sales. Woodsy's also has its own School of Rock offered once each season (fall, winter, spring) and two summer camps. Cost is about $110 and camp contact is Gary Brookhart (at the store). (Just in case you're wondering, the six-week program for teens began before Jack Black became a box-office headliner.) Rock School groups aspiring rock musicians by ability, trains them through six 90-minute sessions, and at the end of the program, puts them to the test in a live performance at the Kent Stage. A similar program for adults, called Weekend Warriors, is also held year round.
