Though the glow of this gigantic monument to Disney merchandising has faded slightly since its opening, there's no denying that, for all things Disney, this is the place to shop. And with two recent room renovations, kids have a new reason to say, "I want that!"

Located in the Downtown Disney Marketplace, this is a must-see for the area. The decor and theming of each room really are fantastic, especially when you take the time to look at the details. The Villian Room houses jewelry, clocks, and watches, but look for the tentacles of the sea witch from The Little Mermaid that intertwine through the display cases. And the detail in the flying airships is astounding.

But you're really here to shop, and that's where this store beats all the rest. You'll find almost any Disney plush character you want here, usually in a few different sizes. Princess costumes abound, as do hats and clothing items; the inventory rotates constantly.

If just purchasing the costume isn't enough, little girls can get the full princess treatment at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, a salon inside the store that gives kids a full makeover - hair, makeup, sparkles, nails, and more.

The old men's area has been converted into a Pirate Room with "undead" pirates from the popular movie - and ride - as well as any toy and character boys under the age of 12 may like. And beware the Stitch who hovers over the entrance - he spits!

The store offers prosaic items like postcards, keychains, and pens, but you'll also find an amazing selection of Disney home goods, including glass and tableware that you might actually pull out for nice occassions, and not just kindergarten tea parties.

The cast members are all pretty knowledgeable about what's available where in this huge store. It's funny that while the store sells such a wide variety of colorful and interesting clothing for all family members, the poor employees have to wear what might be the least attractive outfits in all of Walt Disney World.

All of that said, it's hard to not find something you want to take home from this store. So, plan accordingly and at least enjoy the sights if not the final tally at the end of your receipt.
