Xelias Performance Company (our 2008 Minneapolis/St. Paul Parents' Pick winner of Best Artsy Class for Teens) offers afterschool circus arts training for would-be flyers - and now clowns, too! - ages five and up.
Aerial classes include acrobatics, hand-balancing, and conditioning components, in addition to apparatus-specific instruction. Students work with static trapeze, tissu (silks), Spanish web, and more. Clowning students hone juggling and other traditional comedic circus skills. Workshops and camps are offered during school breaks, and fall and spring showcase performances allow students to show off their new skills.

Some Xelias offerings group teens and adults together, so parents and kids can "learn to fly" at the same time!
