About Yellow River Game Ranch
The 24-acre Yellow River Game Ranch is a preserve for more than 600 animals, including species native to Georgia as well as mountain lions, buffaloes, and bears. Wild animals are kept in cages, but docile, tame animals wander free. A petting area features small barnyard animals, and feed is available for kids who want their palms tickled.
The Game Ranch is also home of General Beau Lee, Georgia's noted groundhog/weather prognosticator! He emerges on February 2 only.
A half-mile hike over sloping terrain makes walking shoes a plus. The path is paved, so strollers can navigate fairly easily, though we recommend wheels with all-terrain tires.

- A burro bit my 6 y.o. daughter there and the management didn't give a flying f about it.

[Submitted by J8/10/09 - I love the game ranch, and so does my family. We live about 2 miles from it and it is great as a spot to take our visitors as well as a field trip for the day. It is best to go in the morning when the animals haven't been feed by a lot of people yet.

[Submitted by Anonymous6/08/09 - The animals which are caged are in small areas and there isn't any effort to create a habitat for them. On our trip the ranch was crowded and most of the animals weren't interested in food, which disappointed the kids who were eager to feed them. Other animals at the back of the park mobbed our group. Stock up on saltines and peanuts before you go to avoid paying for them at the park.
