Grab a seat by the window at this bright little bagel bakery and cafe and watch the traffic go by. Zatz offers twenty varieties of bagels (baked throughout the day in flavors that range from basic to chocolate chip), plus house-mixed schmears, bagel breakfast and lunch sandwiches, bagel dogs, and a nice selection of juices. The vibe here is laid-back and friendly - you won't be made to feel sheepish if your toddler flings a bagel on the floor.

High chairs and clean, private bathrooms are available (although without changing station). The deli case features cream cheese by the tub, lox, and yogurt for takeout.

Located at Admiral and California in West Seattle's Admiral District. From Seattle: Take Highway 99 southbound to West Seattle Bridge exit. Cross bridge and exit at Admiral Way. Follow Admiral Way about two miles to California Avenue SW and turn right. The store is located on the right side of the street. Parking: Free lot parking behind the building or park on street.
