Every year the tour gets better and better. I have taken my children to Zittel Farms through the years and I can say it gets better and better every year. This year did not disappoint. I love the way they add something new every year

Hello Folsom... I am the Brash Woman that gave the tour to the pre-school and when one of the other folks on the tour said that thier was a complaint I decided to find it!! WOW!! scared the kids?? well, maybe. First of all, we don;t have time to go into gorry deatails so that is a laugh!! Was I brash? Well, how do you describe trying to keep 35 preschoolers safe while thier moms are drinking starbucks coffee and chatting in the background about thier life while I am trying to talk?? I don't know maybe I came off brash... but I was talking over at leat 20 parents. I have NEVER told parents to "keep thier mouths shut" but the day the above person came the parents were a little more than loud...Did I expect the children to participate?? OF COURSE that is what a farm tour is about... we talked about mud and why pigs need it and animals teeth and all kinds of things that any intellegent 2-4 year old likes!! Of course with all the parents there talking it was hard to talk to the kids.. so really I was set up for failure don't you think? I couldn't just parade the kids through, then folks would have complained that it was a boring tour, I couldn;t teach the kids because there was a group of parents that didn;t want to listen (as evidenced from above) Did I have an off day?? probably!! it was a tough croud we served that day, and there was no winning for us... too bad the 100's of kids that had a great time...too bad thier parents don't post here!! You can call me any time to discuss our farm tours and GUESS WHAT?! I can teach your kids some really cool things about the farm animals, but you need to be quiet so they can hear!!!

wow.. I was on that field triptoo and I don't remember the guuide scaring the children but showing them the way that the animals mouths and teeth work... and as to telling the parents to keep thier mouths shut.. I wish she would have done that in our group!! LOL the parents were SO rude!! notice how folks that complain usually have bad manners or bratty kids thats what we saw!! I think the tour was FANTASTIC and the kids did learn with that ladies tour...at least the ones that could hear LOL!!!

I will never return to Zittel Farms. We went with our pre-school for a field trip. The lady who provided the tour was incredibly brash and had no people skills at all from the immediate start of the tour. She scared the kids (2-4 year olds) half to death about donkeys biting their fingers off in gory detail. Told parents to "keep their mouths shut". Expected the 2 year olds to participate in a discussion about the animals and told the parents if we would not make them behave she would not control the animals. It was a very bizarre experience and I will never go to this farm again.
