Zube Park552

Zube park is a nice park northwest of Houston near Hockley. We did not go to the park for the park itself but to ride the model train(s). The train complex is 60 acres and separate from the rest of the park facility. It has several different rail lines with another two lines in the development stages. Several miniature buildings accompany the train layout. More than one train runs at a time to keep the wait time down but be prepared to wait up to 15 minutes after getting your (free) tickets. Donations are accepted by the train club to maintain and expand the train/rail system. They also sell souvenirs. Note that during the summer of 2009, building renovations have caused the restrooms to be shut down but port-o-potties have been set up. This also impacts on-site drinking water but the train club sells soda drinks and bottled water. Take your kids, camera and a picnic! I hope you will have as much fun as we did.

We just went to this park and rode the train. We had an excellent time. My daughter is 16 months old and she LOVED the train ride and playing on the playground.
