The beach narrows as it stretches north; for the shortest trip from car to sand, keep heading north through the parking lots.
getting there:
From the Valley, take the 101 west to Kanan Road exit; turn right on Pacific Coast Highway. Street parking is tough to find, but the lot is extensive. Parking fees vary by season.
