| Ongoing Exhibits 151016 | Giants of the MesozoicGiants of the Mesozoic depicts an encounter between the two of the world's largest dinosaurs and reactions of two groups of nearby pterosaurs in a portrayal of life in the Mesozoic Era. This unique exhibition showcases a scene frozen in prehistoric time from Patagonia, Argentina and includes fossil casts of various plants and animals that lived 90 to 100 million years ago. Giganotosaurus is one of the largest meat eaters ever classified, stretching 47 feet long and weighing between 8 and 10 tons. This menacing, toothy beast is featured alongside the massive Argentinosaurus, which at approximately 123 feet long and 100 tons, is the largest dinosaur ever classified. | Ongoing Exhibits 151018 | A Walk Through Time in GeorgiaA Walk Through Time in Georgia explores Georgia in a series of realistic dioramas that capture the sights and sounds of the main geographic regions. The exhibition includes the Piedmont, the region in Georgia with the oldest rocks, and ends at the Coast and Barrier Islands, Georgia's youngest region. Along the way, an array of animals and plants that live in each region are displayed. Accompanying the modern dioramas are galleries and theaters that help to explain the chronological development of the Earth.
