Giants of the Mesozoic depicts an encounter between the two of the world's largest dinosaurs and reactions of two groups of nearby pterosaurs in a portrayal of life in the Mesozoic Era. This unique exhibition showcases a scene frozen in prehistoric time from Patagonia, Argentina and includes fossil casts of various plants and animals that lived 90 to 100 million years ago. Giganotosaurus is one of the largest meat eaters ever classified, stretching 47 feet long and weighing between 8 and 10 tons. This menacing, toothy beast is featured alongside the massive Argentinosaurus, which at approximately 123 feet long and 100 tons, is the largest dinosaur ever classified. A flock of 21 Pterodaustro, a small pterosaur species, scatters in reaction to the giant encounter below, and three Anhanguera, a larger pterosaur species, observe from above.
