Navajo Weaving: Diamonds, Dreams, and Landscapes


Comprised of three separate iterations, each displaying 20-30 Navajo textiles, the exhibit showcases nearly 100 textiles from the museum's spectacular collection of rare Southwestern textiles. The three iterations of the textiles are divided into Diamonds and Beyond, Dreams, and Landscapes, each focusing on a different design element found in Navajo textiles. Most of the textiles have never been displayed for the general public before.

The Psychedelic Experience


The Denver Art Museum hosts The Psychedelic Experience: Rock Posters from the San Francisco Bay Area, 1965-1971, showcasing more than 300 works from the Denver Art Museum's newly acquired collection of posters promoting dance concerts and other "happenings" that have since become iconic symbols of the youth culture of the 60s and 70s. The Psychedelic Experience emphasizes the poster artists, their patrons, and the many influences that shaped these significant works during a time of radical American social change.

The DCPA's Summer Family Production, New Kid, is a play that explores the immigrant experience through the eyes of a boy, Nick, who doesn't speak English and becomes an easy target for bullying. His mother tries to help, but she is struggling with her own issues of assimilation in the new country. The play is recommended for an audience age seven and up and is held inside The Conservatory Theatre, located in the Newman Center for Theatre Education.

The Colorado Shakespeare Festival is a professional summer repertory theater producing four Shakespearean and classical productions each year from July through mid-August.
