Wild Music


Whales compose, bullfrogs chorus, songbirds greet the dawn, and people everywhere sing and dance. Wild Music explores evidence for the biological origins of music through interactive displays and exceptional sound experiences. Visitors can build soundscapes, play with vibrations and frequencies, and investigate unique sounds from birds, animals, and insects.

The updated Splash exhibit is a hands-on experience where visitors can build boats from a variety of items and then race the boats along a two-lane track, learn about the water cycle, and find out how water changes sound and affects how things look.

Swords of the Americas & Art of the Duel


George E. Weatherly's private collection of swords, sabers, and related artifacts from the United States, Canada and various South American countries, is on display, and visitors can also discover what separates a duel from regular fighting and ponder whether dueling was an effective process to address grievances or simply a socially-sanctioned form of murder.

Family Discovery Day


The Frazier Museum hosts an afternoon of hands-on activities, demonstrations, and more, highlighting the fun, fashion, and faces of a bygone era. Families can swing to a performance by the Arthur Murray Dance Studio and learn to tango, rumba; and cha-cha; participate in the hourly Hula Hoop Contest; catch a magic show by local legend, Manny Ehrlich (aka, The Wizard of Ah's); design a carousel horse, create a puppet, and make a Zoetrope "movie;" give some carnival games, like archery, horseshoes and games of chance, a try; watch a collection of silent movies, just like the ones shown at Fontaine Ferry; create and customize a virtual roller coaster; and giggle at the Pino & Bonzer Show, a variety show that features a quirky clown and one amazing dog.
