| Special Events 520493 | Aquatennial Beach BashThe Aquatennial brings its beloved milk carton boat races, sandcastle contest, and beach bash to Lake Calhoun and Thomas Beach again. (This year, the festival adds an environmental component, as organizers hope to make it a "near zero waste event.") Wilderness Inquiry provides free canoe rides, the Hennepin History Museum presents a mini-exhibit of festival memorabilia, local entertainers perform, and family activities are offered on the beach.
